TAPPS Academic Competition

Great job to the Regents students who competed in the TAPPS Academic events last week. Overall, Regents was 5th out of the 11 1A schools that earned points for Speech competitions. The school entered 7 competitors across 4 events. All competitors advanced from preliminary to semi-final rounds in at least one event entered, which included Susannah Vermillion and Bryce Terrel (duet), Abel Ketchen (persuasive speaking), and Gabe Shipp (prose).

The students who placed in Speech events, receiving ribbons or medals, include:

Quint Middlebrook (7th in original oratory) and 8th (in persuasive speaking); Micah Spradley (4th in persuasive speaking); and Katelyn Anderson (3rd in prose). Also, Abel Ketchen placed in science for the second year in a row, earning 7th this year.

Congratulations students on all your hard work, and thanks to all the staff who worked with the students and made this year a success!
