Latin (5th), Teacher's Aide (1st & 2nd), Grounds
We sang “Be Thou My Vision” during teacher in-service. I am humbled and blessed to be one of this group of staff members and teachers who wants to be a part of the vision of what God is doing at Regents Academy. When I began teaching at Regents in 2011, I heard that “All truth is God’s truth.” That idea was new to me as someone who “hated” math when I was in grade school. As a 2nd grade and 5th grade Math teacher, I learned to love God’s truths in math, and I have tried to show students just how beautiful math is, because it is God’s truth and He blesses us with His order and truth. That is not just in Math; it is in all that we are privileged to study and learn at Regents Academy.
This year I will teach 5th grade Latin, help in the 1st and 2nd grades, coordinate the lunch program, write sports news articles for the school, and try to keep up with school grounds. I plan to coach track & field and manage the school’s 4-H Club. My husband Michael, an SFA graduate, is Director of Operations at Burke and he enjoys disc golf and guitar in his free time. Our daughters Rachel and Sydney attended Regents starting in PreK and Kinder and are Regents graduates pursuing college studies at SFA and Angelina College. I am a Texas A & M University graduate with a degree in Agricultural Development, and I finished my Master of Science degree in Agriculture at Stephen F. Austin State University.
All of my co-workers know I love babies. I also enjoy the outdoors, adventures, animals, hiking, gardening, horseback riding, reading, and teaching kids about God’s beautiful world and awesome truths. Our family lives just outside of town on a farm where we have lots of critters and many projects going on at any given time. We worship with our church family at North Street Church of Christ.
